Accessibility Statement
Published: July 2026 · Last reviewed: July 2026
Symply is designed for people living with Parkinson's and other chronic neurological conditions, their family carers and Trusted Helpers, and the clinicians they share information with. Accessibility is a first-class design goal, not a finishing touch.
Target standard
Symply targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We do not currently hold formal third-party certification.
Our current accessibility approach
- Keyboard navigation. Every interactive control can be reached and operated with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
- Screen readers. Landmarks, headings, labels and ARIA attributes are used so pages are meaningful in VoiceOver, TalkBack and NVDA.
- Text resizing. Text scales cleanly up to 200% and Symply offers a large-text setting.
- Contrast. The default palette meets or exceeds WCAG AA contrast for body text and interactive elements.
- Reduced motion. Non-essential animation is suppressed when the operating system requests reduced motion.
- Large touch targets. Primary controls are at least 44×44 CSS pixels; recording buttons are larger.
- Plain language. Copy is written for a broad audience and reviewed to avoid jargon and clinical assumptions.
- Simple Mode. A profile setting that reduces the Home screen to a few core actions for users who prefer less visual density.
- Tremor, fatigue and cognitive load. Voice-first entry, tap-to-toggle recording, forgiving forms, autosave where safe, and short guided flows reduce the effort required to use Symply.
How we test
- Manual keyboard-only reviews of every user-facing screen.
- Screen-reader spot checks with VoiceOver and TalkBack.
- Automated accessibility linting during development.
- Structured launch-readiness audits before pilots.
Known limitations
- Some third-party payment surfaces (Stripe Checkout, Stripe Customer Portal) follow Stripe's own accessibility behaviour.
- Automatic voice transcription is provided by an AI service and may misinterpret speech. Original audio is always preserved and the person who recorded it can review and correct the transcript.
- Symply currently ships in English. Broader language support is planned.
Report an accessibility problem
If something in Symply is hard to use, please tell us. Email info@branchx.ie with a short description of what you were trying to do and, if you can, the device and assistive technology you were using. We aim to acknowledge reports within 3 working days and to publish a plan for anything we cannot fix immediately.
